Learned to cook out of my mom’s Betty Crocker too.
I’m forced due to lack of space to have a lot of my cookbook collection as ebooks. But then you come across a book & you want to hold it in your hands & you buy a physical copy. Company is one of those for me. It’s like reading a novel. The stories behind the meals just draw you in.
I can’t help but notice was a beautiful home she has! I want to see more!!!
Love reading this interview!
Thanks Sally! I feel like I could have droned on and on at the top, but I restrained myself :).

Agree 100%! Some books are totally fine as e-books, but with this one I think you’d be missing a big part of the experience.
I think I may need this one! I love the photo of her grilling in the snow, too.
If it matters to you, you can get a signed copy from Amy's hometown bookstore:
https://shop.beagleandwolf.com/book/9781324001508
I can't get the link to go live, but you should be able to copy and paste it. I got one for my daughter and myself. :)
I love this suggestion; thank you!
It feels so real, right?
I just happened to check this out of the library! Now I’m going to have to move it to the top of my stack.
I totally agree about old books without pictures as evocative. They are some of my favorites.
And thanks for sharing my post!!
Ooh good timing! I can’t wait to hear what you think about Company.
This was a cozy, wonderful read. Also, all the heart eye emojis for Amy's office/cookbook library! 😍😍😍
Oh my gosh, I know! I guess it's unrealistic to have one of those in Brooklyn, but I'll keep dreaming.
I love Amy’s books! I read them over and over again.
Same! I haven't read her memoir though. Have you? Feel like I need to get my hands on that.
I haven’t, just the two cookbooks. But you’re right, missing the memoir feels like an oversight that needs correcting.
Fields of Greens! 🥬 yes! Such a classic
I have never even seen that one! Adding to my library list right now.
Great interview - great book mentions by Amy.
I trust her implicitly, obviously. Thanks for reading Janet!
